Welcome to La Vida Nueva (formerly known as the Kern County Hispanic Commission on Alcohol and Drug Abuse Services)!
We aim to improve the quality of life for individuals struggling with substance use disorders and co-occurring disorders.
Hablamos espaƱol! We are proud to offer services in both English and Spanish.
At La Vida Nueva, we use evidence-based curricula in both group and individual settings to help beneficiaries gain:
- awareness of their addiction and co-occurring disorders
- education about substance use disorders
- insight into the consequences and impacts of the disorder on themselves, their family, and their community.
Beneficiaries will learn and practice how to:
- utilize the core functions of the curriculum
- recognize relapse triggers
- identify daily stressors
- acknowledge alcohol and drug use
- analyze thoughts and behaviors
- establish coping skills
Our clinical staff supports and encourages all beneficiaries to begin exploring new healthy lifestyle practices that enhance their personal relationships and their involvement with their community. Each individual will be inspired to stand up for themselves and recognize they have the freedom to create a new lifestyle that supports their sobriety.
We are certified by the California State Department of Health Care Services
